And the rosters are a bit too similar at this point. They took away the ability to raze settlements even for the afore mentioned Tanukhids which makes their campaign really awkward to play as you can't ever really deny any territory to the ERE until your liberatees get strong enough to conquer stuff themselves. Like giving the Tanukhids a base food income of 30 on top of the 20 bonus you get in the early turns, so you won't starve even if you bunch up both your amies. Then there's the stuff they really shouldn't have touched which irks me. Doesn't make any sense and happens all the time, so I'm guessing there's some weird stuff they have to iron out with the AI.

I mean like 6 full stacks between them just hanging out outside my town, not at war with me or the recently defeated Varinians. That was a kind of cool development, but when I capture Rougion as the danes, the next turn the Burgundians, Angles and Langobards all send armies up to encamp right outside of the settlement and just sit there for several turns before wandering away 1 at a time. By the time I got to Gaul (I dunno, like less than 10 turns) Gaul had popped up in a rebellion, captured 80% of Gaul, got attacked by the Franks, then declared peace and a defensive alliance with WRE and was stacking armies to push into Frisia. I was doing some testing last night, started a Picts campaign and raced my armies south as fast as I could, sacking and liberating along the way. The campaigns can either be brilliant, or a bit wonky, seems they have some things to iron out, but the campaigns seem to be much more varried than they were before, and more fast paced. The unit models are nice, having decent early game melee infantry with norse factions is a +, and I like the idea of higher recruitment/lower upkeep costs, as it makes big battles even more pivotal and decisive (they can't just pull back a 2 unit defeated army and recruit another half stack in the end turn phase). I only just started using it recently, as I really enjoyed their Rome 2 pack, but my feelings are mixed about the current iteration of their Attila offering.
